AT&T MYDD 2018

We won second place at AT&T annual Malaysia Developer Day 2018!

We built an IOT prototype called “Critter-Watch”. The idea behind CritterWatch is, when a motion is detected, a photograph is taken. A trained ML model then identifies the endangered species from the photo, and this data is the uploaded to the cloud. This information can also be viewed in real time from an Android app.

This was a pretty crazy application, IOT and ML and it would not have been possible without the amazing team we had! I was super impressed with what we created in 24 hours! (Especially because at times I thought we were not going to make it!).

Also what was great about this hackathon was the calibre of mentors, as well as the skills of our competitors. Our mentors were amazing as always (they came prepped with electronic kits and parts as well- thank goodness)! Our competitors were really good as well - this was one of the few hackathons where I watch ALL the pitches because there were some amazing technical executions! It was also lovely talking with everyone afterwards and exchanging ideas and tips!
