Women Techmakers Kuala Lumpur Event 2018

Ran another code lab at Women Techmakers Kuala Lumpur 2018 event, held at Cyberview Sdn Bhd (i.e. right next to MAGIC in Cyberjaya).

My codelab “Build Your Own Snapchat” was based on identifying facial features in a video feed and superimposing cartoon eyes on the face detected (video below), as well as some other exercises. There were alot of beginners around, but I was very proud when some of my students completed the exercise.

It was great catching up with familiar faces, especially since I had not seen some of them in a while. Was pleasantly surprised to bump into JT who brought my Google WiFi (that we had won in the Firebase competition last year) from SIngapore, as it had finally arrived!!!!

P.S. apparently these days I’m a Rockstar speaker!
